The first step in making your own website is getting hosting for it.

For your first website, you can start with the cheapest plan they offer, and buy additional hosting or upgrade your plan down the road as you need it.

Installing WordPress

When you’re done signing up and choosing a plan, you’ll receive an email giving you access to your website’s C-panel, as well as your necessary info like your username.

Once you’ve logged in, you go down to the “website” panel and click “install WordPress”.

After that, you’ll go to a page where you’ll click “install” once more, before it asks you which domain you’d like to install this to.

Open the dropdown menu, and click your new domain. Now, the next part is important: Make sure you check “show advanced options”, as this will allow you to chose the password to log-in to your WordPress site with.

If you don’t, it will automatically create a password, and because you can’t see it, you won’t know what it is to log-in.

How to Post

Posting to your site with WordPress is simple, which is the point of using this software.

Simply look to the column on the left, and find where it says “Post”, then click from the next menu “Add New”.

From here, you have a standard editor with all the features and options you’ll need to make a professional looking and well optimized post on your web site.

Once you’re done editing your post, click the “Publish” button to the right. Once you go back to your homepage, you’ll see your new blog complete with your first post on it.
